Spanish Alchemy means perfumery. It is based on an ancient botanical wisdom that went beyond beauty and treated people holistically with a captivating fragrant potion. This alchemical perfumery is at the core of all my products. My alchemical scents (alchemical synergies) are the strongest active ingredient within each product. My aim is to bring this ancient wisdom to modern life using the finest quality organic ingredients to deliver the highest effectiveness for you.

Our alchemical synergy refers to the blend of natural/organic essential oils we’ve used to create the scent of the product. We call it alchemical synergy because the way Sonia creates these blends is based on an energetic balance of the blend. Essential oils are very powerful when they are used alone but they are exponentially efficient when they are combined with others. This is what we know as the principle of the synergy. There are no limits regarding the amount of essential oils – what matters is the right ‘polarity’ on your synergy. The energetic charge of an essential oil is crucial in order to obtain the most effective formula. Essential oils can also be divided by their type of energy – this is what we call the polarity of an essential oil. Sonia’s signature scents are a well-kept secret; however we list the most significant chemical compounds of the synergy. All of our products contain at least from 80 to 100 % of organic certified ingredients. The 20% variation is made up of natural ingredients that may not be organic but are natural. It depends on what is available at the time; for example some of the plants are wildcrafted but not available as organic ingredient and some essential oils cannot be purchased as organic either as they are extracted from wildcrafted plants. Becoming an organic certified company is a long and expensive process we may pursue in a future.

Yes, they are. And we now that we are certified we exhibit a badge on every vegan product. We are WWF members and we donate 5% of our online sales every year for helping forests to be recovered, endangered animals to be protected and oceans to be cleaned. However, we use a tiny amount of organic certified, cruelty free and sustainably collected beeswax on our Whipped cream. Because bees need us, we decided to support Australian beekeepers. This is the story of a wonderful Australian project to save the bees worldwide - this is the story of this project: Human beings and bees go way back . We've been gathering beeswax and honey from our bee friends for thousands of year up to 40.000 years. Today, bees pollinate at least 1/3 of world's food crops. Our very lives depend on beekeeping. Since 2005 there is a big Australian project called "Superbees Project" that has been developing a nectar to feed bees and help them strengthen their immune system and minimise their stress. So far, the results have been promising, "superbees" are living twice as long as regular bees and have harder exoskeletons. Last year the project tripled the number of bees at its organic garden. Thus, I would love to encourage you supporting the heroes saving our lives: the beekeepers. They are the ones working hard to help the bees, and by doing that they are saving the bees and therefore, our lives. Let's do our bit and support local beekeepers!

Yes they are. We DO NOT test on animals we are a Cruelty Free business. Sustainability and good practices are our philosophy. As we only use natural ingredients, most products are tested in-house as they don’t require sophisticated lab testing. Creams, serums and any other product that require testing for PH and durability in order to avoid bacteria growth are tested on a laboratory (never on animals) to ensure you optimal quality.

Yes, they are. Our alchemic synergies are 100% natural, made only with organic and /or natural pure essential oils. We don't use anything synthetic in our fragrances or in any other product in our range. We have NOTHING TO HIDE, we supply full ingredients' disclosure to our customers by signing a confidentiality agreement. Sonia Orts / Atelier CD fragrances are meticulously crafted using natural essential oils, which are blends with hundreds of naturally occurring components. These compositions imbue each product with a distinctive and intricate scent profile. To safeguard these valuable and proprietary formulations, specific essential oils are not individually disclosed on Sonia Orts / Atelier CD products. Instead, all fragrances are disclosed generically as ‘Fragrance (Parfum)’ on our ingredient lists, a term that is also used for synthetic fragrances. It's important to emphasise that Sonia Orts / Atelier CD products never incorporate synthetic fragrances or perfume ingredients. In compliance with regulatory requirements, Sonia Orts / Atelier CD Skin Care products additionally list specific fragrance components such as citral, limonene, or geraniol in their ingredient declarations. Each of these components is derived naturally from essential oils, as indicated by the note (*made from natural essential oils) on the packaging. Since 2005, regulations have mandated the declaration of these components to aid consumers with fragrance sensitivities. Notably, there are 26 specific fragrance compounds that must be listed on skin care products, irrespective of whether the fragrance is synthetic or natural. Therefore, even the naturally occurring fragrance components within Sonia Orts / Atelier CD Skin Care products are meticulously detailed on our labels.

An Alchemic Perfume is a natural perfume made with 100% natural ingredients. It is made following a very ancient process called Spagyrics to obtain strong botanical extracts. Our natural perfumes do not include any animal extracts such as ambergris. We only use a natural organic alcohol (ethanol/ethyl alcohol), we don’t use purified water for our Alchemic Perfumes but organic certified hydrosols, a by-product obtained from essential oils, and our natural alchemic synergy of essential oils.

There are different types of alcohols available in the market, some are synthetics obtain from petroleum and others are natural and/or organic and sourced from plants. We use an organic ethanol derived from sugar cane that is food-grade (edible) and is also used in the food (spirits, wine...) and pharmacology (naturopathic medicines, mouthwash...) industry. This alcohol is non-toxic for your skin; it is actually beneficial when used in small amounts as a disinfectant to kill bacteria. Nevertheless alcohol will dry out your skin if you are using it on a large area for a prolonged period of time. However, the amount of alcohol that sits on your skin from a few sprays of perfume is minimal and will not cause dryness in most people. If you are extremely sensitive to alcohol we recommend that you choose your favourite scent which can be oil-based available soon in store.

That varies from person to person, as your skin PH is key and behaves differently depending on the aroma blend. Generally, your Alchemic Perfume scent will be noticeable for at least 4-5 hours approximately, more intense fragrances like the upcoming winter season’s will last up to 12 hours. Your sense of smell will get used to your Alchemic Perfume and will evolve along with it. As a holistic product, your Alchemic Perfume will tune your mood, will awaken your senses and will delight your nose with new notes you’ll pick up as your olfactory sense keeps being stimulated. Keep in mind that the scent trail (“sillage”) and longevity for mostly citric-based scents is not as durable as mainstream commercial perfumes as we do not use any synthetic enhancers or fillers. That means no phthalates*, parabens** or synthetic musks***. *Phthalates: Another synthetic preservative that’s carcinogenic and linked to reproductive effects (decreased sperm counts, early breast development, birth defects) and liver and kidney damage. **Parabens: Synthetic preservatives known to interfere with hormone production and release. ***Synthetic musk: These are linked to hormone disruption and are thought to persist and accumulate in breast milk, body fat, umbilical cord blood, and the environment. I caution against using any synthetic perfume or cologne, or any other synthetically fragranced personal care product, as they're almost always loaded with synthetic chemicals that have been linked to cancer, reproductive toxicity, allergies, and more.

We suggest you avoid any products that are known to effect pregnancy and stick to citric-based fragrances. The process starts with a personal interview (phone or Skype) along with an easy form for you to fill in. Sonia will create 3 different scents for you to try and from which you can choose your favourite one. These 3 fragrances will come with a quotation for each of them so you’ll know how much it will be future orders. Depending on how exclusive and exquisite your taste and preferences are, prices may vary. But do not worry, we’re here to help you and make your dreams come true. Orders can only be cancelled or modified if they have not yet been processed for shipping. Due to the hand made, fresh nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges. This policy ensures the freshness and potency of our products. However, we want you to love your products as much as we do, so if you are unsatisfied in any way please contact us as soon as possible and we will find an agreeable solution. Orders with any defects or errors in the processing of the Customer's order may lead to a request for Goods exchange or Goods return. The Customer must notify the Supplier (Sonia Orts) in writing within 7 days of receipt of Goods Authorisation to return Goods must be obtained prior to the return of any Goods. Exchange, return and/or refund of Goods is at the discretion of Sonia Orts. Exchange, return and/or refund of Goods will be assessed on: • Goods conformance to Sonia Orts product specifications, warnings and directions of use • Written order confirmation / purchase order by the Customer • Processing error by Sonia Orts • Goods damaged whilst in transit to the Customer Any additional costs incurred in handling and transportation of goods shall be as pre-agreed by the Customer with Sonia Orts.
