Rejuvenating + Exfoliant Honey Mask

Updated: Jul 25, 2020

This mask is a delight and works wonderfully on tired/dry winter skin yet on acne prone, and skin with an oily tendency.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of oats powder (you just need to grind them to get the powder)

  • 1 teaspoon of honey (Manuka or Neem honey are just perfect!)

  • 2 teaspoon of plain yogurt

Mix all the ingredients until you obtain a thick paste. Spray slightly a natural toner or floral water (100% natural) onto your face to prepare your skin. Apply the mask by gently circular movements all over your face in ascending motions. Massage it well and leave on for 10 min. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Et voilà! Magic is done ✨

Why this mask is so magical?

Honey is considered to be one of the greatest gifts that nature has bestowed on man. It is not only healthy when consumed, but also very beneficial to your skin. Its beauty and medicinal benefits have been known to humankind for centuries. There are stories that Cleopatra used to bathe herself in milk and honey and Poppea, the wife of Nero, used honey and milk as a facial lotion. Today, honey is used as an important skincare ingredient by cosmetic companies in order to help with different skin conditions.

Honey is antibacterial, nourishing and a very efficient wound healer.

Oatmeal benefits for skin also include helping skin retain its natural moisture balance which is very important part of a regular skin care routine. When oatmeal is applied to the surface of the skin and then removed, a protective barrier preventing moisture loss from the skin is left behind - a natural and effective moisturiser for healthy skin care. Using oatmeal can be an effective and natural way of preventing dry skin in those cold and dry winter months. One really extraordinary property is that oatmeal is a soothing anti-inflammatory and redness remover when applied to the skin. It helps with skin itching caused from various skin problems such as dry skin, chicken pox, eczema, and more. Oatmeal is also a fantastic natural and gentle cleanser.

Yogurt is a delicious vitamin-packed food that is great for breakfast. But did you know that yogurt also has great benefits for your skin when applied topically?

Yogurt has been used on skin for beauty benefits since ancient times. In India, using yogurt for skin is still valued as a great way to clear acne and pimples. Yogurt contains many powerful nutrients that promote healthy skin.

Lactic acid, one of the key ingredients in yogurt, is used in many skin care products as it exfoliates and moisturises dry skin to make it smooth. It also helps prevent wrinkles and reduce the appearance of already-existing wrinkles. Yogurt is rich in vitamin B2 (riboflavin), B12, and B5 Riboflavin keeps skin glowing and hydrated; protects skin cells from oxidative damage by free radicals and is necessary for cell growth and regeneration.

With all the benefits of honey, oatmeal and yogurt stated above who would not enjoy this easy-to-make-from-the-pantry mask?!

Be nourished with natural potions
