In the XVIII century, French women used to weave stuffed birds, jewels, flowers, vases and even boat models in their wigs! Some wigs were so high that they had to raise up the house entrance for the women to be able to pass through without trouble. Funny, right?
There is 4 different treatments to consider when taking care of our hair:
1. Pre-conditioning treatment: to moisturise, and nourish when damaged hair. To condition and prepare.
2. Shampoo: to remove dirty, oil and residues.
3. Rinse: to remove shampoo and restore hair nutrients.
4. Conditioner: to keep humidity, and protect it from harm.
Pre-conditioning—DIY Hair Mask
I love clay masks for almost everything! But in hair, they make such a difference. This deeply cleansing will prepare your hair for any treatment you'd like to apply afterwards. Your scalp will feel very grateful for having this mask as it leaves a very refreshing sensation and soft locks.
1/2 cup Jojoba oil
3 tbsp coconut oil
4 tbsp white or pink clay (not to use the others, they might dry up too much)
1 cup mineral water
Warm up slightly the oils and reserve. Add the mineral water to the clay until you get a thick paste, you might not need all the water. Then add the oils to the paste and stir well. Add the mixture to your hair, washed and wet, massaging thoroughly towards your scalp. Once is all distributed, put on a shower cap or plastic film and leave it for 20 min. In the meantime, have a bath is the nicest way! Rinse off very well, your hair is ready.
Dry DIY Hair Mask
Easy made from the pantry and very effective DIY hair mask recipe.
Make a mayonnaise with 1 egg and oil (olive oil, macadamia, almond or avocado are fabulous for this recipe). Once you've got the mayo, add the avocado and mix it well with the blender. Apply all around your hair and leave it for 20 min always with a shower cap on and rinse off well and wash your hair as usual.
Normal & Oily Hair Mask
This one is a recovering mask when your hair has been too much exposed to sun, swimming pools, salt water... You may apply it once a week, the benefit of it is that lavender oil will help you to regulate oily secretion in your scalp and gradually getting balance.
1/2 Jojoba oil
12 drop lavender essential oil
You may want to warm up slightly the oil before adding lavender. Apply all round your wet hair and deeply into your scalp. Leave it for 20 min and wash your hair as usual.
