Fresh Juice Recipes for Autumn You Don’t Want to Miss

Seasonal transitions can be hard on our immune systems, energy levels, and skin. Seriously, I can’t be the only one who wants to sleep and curl up 24/7 once the weather cools down!

Changing routines and diets—helloooo, hearty casseroles—can make us feel lazy or simply “off.” These seven healthy juice recipes feature ingredients, like carrots, cucumber, ginger, apple, parsley, and lemon, that help keep your skin glowing and hydrated and your circulatory and immune systems in tip-top shape.

My Fave Autumn Juices

Use a juicer to make all these glorious recipes; or alternatively, If you don’t want to miss the fibre content simply blend the ingredients on your smoothie blender.

Antioxidant Carrot Juice

Carrots provide most of the taste and colour in this drink. This root vegetable is loaded with antioxidants and several forms of carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A.

Celery provides a great source of dietary antioxidants and fibre, while cucumber is an anti-inflammatory that removes toxins from the body and, with its high-water content, adds liquid to the drink. Ginger adds the kick, and in additions there several studies that are researching about its role in helping the body fight tumours.

Squeeze or blend thoroughly:

  • 2 carrots

  • 6 celery sticks

  • 1 cucumber

  • 2-inch piece of ginger

  • 100 ml coconut water

Healthy Gut Apple Juice

Apples are high in dietary fibre and other compounds that benefit the intestinal microbiome. Phytochemicals called flavonoids present in the peel have been shown to help fight cancer (and so does fibre), so drink one glass of this to keep the doctor away. Lemons have a high vitamin C content and anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial capabilities. Lemons as well as apples, are high in a fibre called pectin, which is a prebiotic that assists good gut health by feeding healthy gut bacteria. Lemons also contain large amounts of citric acid which can increase urine output and decrease kidney stones as well as aid in digestion

If you’ve been on a juice cleanse recently, you won’t be surprised by the next ingredient: cayenne or pepper. Often used to cleanse and detoxify the body, this spice also improves circulation.

As for coconut water, what can’t it do? It helps you feel full and thus aids in weight loss— plus, it keeps you regular. Since it is excellent for hydration, coconut water eases the symptoms of having too much fun out with the girls.

  • 1-2 apples depending on size

  • 1 cucumber

  • 1 squeezed lemon

  • 1-inch piece of ginger

  • dash of cayenne

  • 100 ml coconut water

Green Blessing Juice

In addition to the many benefits of apples and lemons, this drink contains chard, which is extremely high in vitamin K and also contains vitamins A, C, and significant amounts of dietary fibre. Strawberries are delicious, and they’re also nutritious, known for their high vitamin C and folate content and incredible antioxidant ability.

· 1 green apple

· 1 bunch Swiss or Rainbow chard

· 1/2 cup strawberries

· 1 bunch parsley

· 1 squeezed lemon

De-puffing Carrot Juice

Carrots are a staple in my diet, I couldn’t live without it. Here’s another carrot-based juice that will boost your immune system this autumn.

Parsley is an often-overlooked superfood with potent anti-inflammatories benefits that aid in detoxing the body. Because of its diuretic properties, it is thought to reduce bloating, making this drink perfect for post-holiday recovery.

Celery is rich in vitamins and minerals. You'll enjoy vitamins A, K, and C, plus minerals like potassium and folate when you eat celery. It's also low in sodium. Plus, it's low on the glycemic index, meaning it has a slow, steady effect on your blood sugar.

Lemon juice with its detox benefits, and all that vitamin C that will have your immune system buzzing (bonus: vitamin C helps your body produce collagen).

This juice is the ultimate immune-boosting, body detoxing, free radical fighting elixir.

  • 5 carrots

  • 1 bunch parsley

  • 1 squeezed lemon

  • 100 ml apple juice or coconut water

  • Dash of raw honey or maple syrup (optional)

Add all the ingredients into a juicer. Sweeten with organic raw honey if desired.

5. Digestion 101 Juice

When it comes to skin, hydration is key. Plus, with a high natural sodium content, celery juice raises stomach acid, which helps break down food—improving gut health and, in turn, lowering stress levels and brightening skin. Hydrating celery and cucumber combine with parsley, lemon, and aloe vera juice will help your liver detox from all the extra booze and party food you indulged in this summer 😉

· 4 celery stems

· 1 cucumber

· ½ bunch coriander

· ½ bunch parsley

· 1 squeezed lemon

· 100 ml aloe vera juice or coconut water

Juice the first four ingredients. Combine in a glass with lemon juice and aloe vera juice. Or add them all in your high-power blender.

6. Green Beauty Queens Juice

Yep, I know, we couldn’t leave the green queens outside this equation—kale and spinach. This juice is meant to help your body regain balance just in time for the cold season. Dark, leafy greens like kale and spinach are a great way to get your metabolism and blood sugar back on track.

Spinach is rich in many nutrients, including vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, iron, folate, and potassium. Kale is considered a superfood because it's a great source of vitamins and minerals. It also contains several other compounds that are beneficial for your health. It has very high levels of Vitamins A, C and K-one cup of chopped kale provides well more than your recommended daily allowance of these vitamins. Kale contains lutein which speeds up collagen production, essential for your skin's strength.

  • 3 kale leaves

  • ½ cup spinach

  • 4 celery stems

  • 5 basil leaves

  • 1 cucumber

  • 1 squeezed lemon

  • 1 squeezed lime

  • 100 ml apple juice

What I love of juices is that with just one big glass you can have covered half of the daily intake of vitamins and minerals to keep your immune system strong all the way down to winter season.
