What you do to your skin before makeup is just as important as the makeup itself. I find quite often people who use organic face creams and cleansers that still have skin issues due to their makeup products. Some people use makeup on a daily basis. Most conventional foundations are made with by-products of petrol. Would you spread car oil on your face every day? No?! Well, unfortunately this is exactly what you're doing when using conventional makeups, paraffinum liquidum and mineral oil are simply refined petroleum by-products, not to mention here about the rest of the ingredients.
You have great options and brands that do the job for you, they make absolutely gorgeous natural makeup products. But if they don't fit your budget—you might be too young to expend that money—or you just simply would like to have some fun; there are some ingredients in your pantry waiting for you to take the matter into your own hands.
Natural Bespoke Makeup—Foundation
Ingredients
3 tbsp of arrowroot powder
1/2 tsp organic cocoa powder
pinch ground cinnamon to add that bronzed tone
pinch beetroot powder - optional
pinch of white clay to add more coverage
How to do it:
Mix all ingredients to get desired colour and coverage and sift them. You might like to start with 1/2 tsp of cocoa powder and a pinch of cinnamon; add more until you get the tone that matches perfectly to your skin. Start slowly and add as needed, testing on inner-arm as you go to find your shade. Are you looking for a more pinky shape? Add a pinch of beetroot powder to the mix. Keep the makeup stored in a glass jar with lid. Are you looking for a liquid foundation? Add to an organic cream base a bit of organic jojoba oil, it is the best oil to use because it is easily absorbed into your skin and within five minutes it just leaves your skin soft, smooth and not oily. Start slowly and add as required until you get a texture you are happy with. Jojoba oil combats overproduction of sebum getting back your skin balance, treating and preventing acne.
Then start adding your natural powder colours and clay—a pinch at a time—until you get your desired colour and texture. Easy right?
Natural Blush Ingredients
1/2 tsp arrowroot powder
1/2 tsp organic cocoa powder
1/2 tsp beetroot powder or hibiscus powder
Optional ingredients:
Turmeric—for more peachy shade
cinnamon for golden shade-bronzing powder

As with any homemade makeup recipe, the amounts vary by person. You’ll have to experiment with quantities of each ingredient to find the shade that works for you. I always start with a base of about 1/2 tsp of arrowroot and darken as needed, testing on my inner arm as I go. When you get your desired shade, store in a small jar or old makeup shaker and use as needed.
Now you will look naturally beautiful and smell divine.
